June 6th

Monday night I need some stress relief so I called my good friends Matt and John Luppino. We hit the river and Matt (an accomplished fisherman) caught a nice 14″ on the first cast of the night. Unfortunately we didn’t get a picture. There were lots of tiny grey Caddis laying eggs and a very few very large Caddis hatching. The surface activity was limited. I tied on a Caddis pattern I never use and immediately started getting hits. Hooked the nice 17″ in the photos. Super strong fish that put up quite the fight. My buddy Matt eventually netted it for me. John is just learning fly fishing but also got a fish. Each day the surface activity picks up a little. Been checking the river often and have seen very few mayflies. Stay tuned for more pics.
